General Practitioner with special interest in Paediatrics

Summary:
Primary Care Family Physicians with a strong specialist interest in community Paediatrics required to assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat patients of all ages. Opportunity to join a founding team that is passionate about achieving best patient outcomes whilst leading with empathy and care.
Initially this will be a community-visiting role with Practice Privileges in a prestigious Dubai clinic.
Scope of responsibilities for Physicians:
Clinical:
- Perform history and physical examination
- Ordering and clinical interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic imaging studies
- Prescription and administration of medications/vaccines, explaining the risks and benefits of the treatment, any alternatives and discussion of side effects
- Counselling patients on diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis
- Assessment and treatment of acute minor injuries, illness and procedures
- Stabilisation of patients with major illnesses or injuries prior to transfer to hospital
- Preventative care, including wellness screening and medicals
- Assessment and management of mental health conditions
- Assessment and treatment of chronic conditions
- Ad-hoc treatments as per the Physician Practicing Privileges
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary
- Provide appropriate follow up with patients
- Work shift patterns as scheduled by the Medical Director, including night, weekends and public holidays
- Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
- Report safeguarding concerns as per the relevant policies
- Follows the UAE public health law in reporting communicable diseases
Qualifications:
- Medical degree
- General Practice Qualification from either; the UK (MRCGP), Ireland (MICGP), Australia (RACGP), Canada (CCFP), or the United States of America (DABFM).
- MRCPCH or DCH holders only.
Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year relevant clinical experience immediately prior to application, after completion of approved post graduate certification. Experience in UCC and home visiting settings since qualifying.
- Evidence of CME activity, related to the scope of practice (minimum of 40 hours in 24 months).
